World Wide Environmental Woes
I watched a TV Show featuring the "Trashed - Across the Pacific Ocean" involving plastics. This website will give you a glimpse of the trash that collects in the Pacific Ocean's Vortex - where few travel. The winds do not accommodate sailors and the fish do not live or thrive there. It is a huge area where the world's oceans collectively distribute its trash, plastics and other non bio-degradable materials. In the show, there were tires, hats, cups and much more floating everywhere. The problem with plastic is that it doesn't bio-degrade, it "photodegrades". That means that all the plastics that come in contact with the sun - break apart into smaller pieces! Now we know why our plastic chairs from China don't last very long on our decks.
